about

More musings on life and death

lyrics

There’s an element of fantasy in what I say
(He’s telling you lies)
Nothing ever seemed impossible until this day
(He can’t make the grade, my friend)
I was the pilot of a helicopter, high in the sky
(He thinks he is God)
There was a cliff with man hanging over the side
(A dangerous cliff, my friend)

Hold tight, ain’t nothing but a tiny tree
Standing between you and eternity

Now the wind was blowing a terrible storm from hell
(He was sore afraid)
All the lights they were flickering on the instrument panel
(He’s losing control, my friend)
I was thinking that the rotor blades might hit the rock
(Crash, bang, big, prang)
That’s when I noticed that the man, he was snagged by his frock
(A delicate shade of pink)

Hold tight, ain’t nothing but a tiny dress
Keep you from the bottom of a deep crevasse

I was lowering the harness from the ratchet pin
(The hero is come)
When the man in the frock looked up and cracked a grin
(He will not be saved, by you)
He let’s go of that tree and like small pink bean
(Come to me, gravity)
He went hurtling down the side of the ravine
(I fear he is doomed this time)

Hold tight, ain’t nothing but an angels breath
Standing between you and certain death

Now it’s a matter of conjecture if pink man survived
(Your best may not be enough)
As I was searching for a meaning in his suicide
(Watch out for the rocks)
I hit the cliff with a bang, the rotors buckled and bent
(You can’t even save yourself)
Then the helicopter followed pink-dress man’s descent
(This is the end)

Don’t cry, everybody is going to die
